Neema's Summary Part 2
Ok I have found some more free time (a rare commodity at Mysterium) so I am going to add another day to my summary!
Friday:
Ok, no chance to sleep in, but I woke up before the alarm went off at least! We all decided to eat breakfast at the hotel restaurant (a big mistake, the food was awful!!) picked up the Devon's (Devon, Devonette, Stephan and Peter) at the lobby after they settled in and went with Granny, LieRa and family, and Kass. We planned our first full day out in Toronto, including a tour of the CN Tower, the tallest tower in the world! (Knowing our impending schedule for tomorrow, we knew that Friday was going to be the best and only day to see it!!)
We all departed as a group from the lobby, to the subway, which was quite nice and very speedy!! We ended up at Union station and walked the rest of the way to the Tower. After getting our tickets and waiting in line to enter the tower, we were quite surprised to see bomb sniffing equipment that everyone had to go through in order to get access to the top! Nice to see that increased security is not just a US thing and that it is more of a global concern now. We went up the elevator and made it to the Observation level. The weather was perfect, just slightly cloudy and the view was incredible!! I took many pictures and at one point was trying to locate our hotel but not being familiar with the city, I was unable to locate it :( . I did take several picture where I thought it might be, but I an not certain. Once we were done with the tower, we went back to the hotel via the subway.
On our arrival to the hotel, we were greeted with the sight of our one and only Wolfie!!! We all chatted for hours in the hotel lobby and were greeted by the arrival of Christoph, MrM3FaN, and RR_Caz!!
I had to make arrangements to get internet access at the hotel for the following days festivities to provide a connect for the GoG hosted Mysterium webcam. After speaking with the front desk, I found out how to get wireless access in the areas that we needed but I need to get on the Internet first to sign up with an account with Spotnik, the local wireless provider. So I was off in search for an Internet café and ended up finding on right near the hotel! (Lucky me!) So after a few minutes and one credit card bill later, we are up and running!! Yipee (and a big sigh of relief that we got a connection in the places where we needed it!!!
After additional chatting in the lobby we suddenly realized that we needed to depart for the Laser Tag event, so we all got in the car and left for Laser Quest.
Having played Laser Tag before I was familiar with the game, but not the layout of this particular site. We all went through "training", donned our equipment and entered the arena! This sight was a two layer arena with blacklight lighting and neon painted walls and floors with multiple ramps to the second level. It seemed that the second level was divided into at least three areas which were only accessible from the ground level. Mirrors also dotted the arena and were fun to use to bounce our lasers off them to hit unsuspecting players! We were having so much fun, that our round flew by!! We were quite hot after our round and cooled off outside in the evening air.
Once everyone was done with their rounds we all departed and decided to get some dinner at a local restaurant. Found a great Thai resturant and after finishing our meal we looked up and found a shell symbol made out of rope lights right above our table!!! Can you say creapy!!!! After that we met in the hotel bar to end the day with a nightcap. Upon arrival at the bar we were surprized to "hear" a group of approximately 20 Britons singing in the corner en mass! We were not expecting a show to end the night with but we got one anyway! LOL
After about another hour in the bar, we finally got so tired we had to depart to get ready for the big day!! Off to bed for Neema!
Saturday to be continued in the next entry.
